Frequently Asked Questions
-
Each uploaded image first generates a preview for 0.1 credits so you can see how the vectorization looks. When you're happy with the preview, you can generate the final clean SVG for 0.9 credits. Most images convert perfectly on the first try, meaning one full conversion usually costs just 1 credit.
-
High-contrast images with clear subjects work best. Logos, silhouettes, mechanical objects, animals, and simple illustrations typically produce excellent results. Photos with extremely busy backgrounds or very fine textures may need a couple preview generations to get the perfect result.
-
Yes. The SVG files are designed to work with popular software and machines including Cricut, Glowforge, LightBurn, XTool, Shaper Origin, CNC routers, and vinyl cutters. The vectors are created with clean paths and geometry suitable for digital fabrication.
-
Yes. Every new account receives 5 free credits so you can test previews and create real vector conversions before purchasing additional credits.
-
Absolutely! All generated vectors come with a commercial license. You can use them for client work, products, merchandise, logos, and any commercial purpose. However, you are responsible for ensuring your uploaded images don't infringe on existing copyrights or trademarks.
-
The app is optimized to create smooth, continuous paths that work best for CNC routers, lasers, and vinyl cutters. While we could convert images into mathematically rigid shapes, the current system prioritizes reliable machine-ready geometry that cuts cleanly.
-
Vectable focuses on identifying the main subject of the image. Background clutter, shadows, or noise may be simplified or removed during processing. If important parts disappear, try cropping the image closer to the subject or generating another preview.
-
Try adjusting the image first. Cropping unnecessary background, increasing contrast, or using a clearer reference image often produces much better results. You can generate additional previews until the result matches what you're looking for. If this fails request a manual fix and we will convert it for you.
-
Each preview still runs a full vectorization process on our servers. Charging a small preview credit helps cover processing costs while allowing you to test different results before generating the final SVG.
-
Currently the system only keeps the most recent preview. We recommend saving or downloading versions you like before generating another preview. A history feature is planned for a future update.
-
A full conversion history system is currently in development and will be released in a future update so you can easily revisit past files.
-
Your final download will be a clean SVG vector file that works with most design and machine software including Illustrator, LightBurn, Cricut Design Space, and CNC CAM programs.

Vectable works especially well for:
CNC routing signs
Laser engraving
Vinyl cutting
Woodworking artwork
Custom merchandise
Logo conversions
Decorative vector art
-
Yes. Logos generally convert extremely well because they already contain strong shapes and high contrast. Just make sure you have permission to use any copyrighted or trademarked logos.
